What is ABA Therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an umbrella term for the application of behavioral science to socially significant behaviors. In the simplest terms, ABA Therapy breaks everyday processes and situations into small, easy-to-understand steps. Those steps are learned, repeated and rewarded until they become an unaided behavior.
ABA encompasses a variety of scientifically proven treatment methods to address all types of behaviors and can be used to teach individuals of all levels of functioning and diagnoses.
At Playmates ABA, we use ABA therapy for our NY based families to increase social skills and overall level of functioning. Examples of areas addressed in ABA sessions include social, play, language, academics, self-care, and self-direction. We offer families quality therapy and a high level of support either by having the therapist come to your home or meet with your child through a telehealth session.
Do you provide in-home ABA sessions?
Our trained private ABA therapists are available to work with your child in your home to reinforce skills learned during therapy sessions as part of everyday living. They can also provide personal assistance with problematic behavior during daily living activities at home (e.g. toilet training, getting dressed, brushing teeth, riding appropriately in the car, etc.)
Are ABA services covered by health insurance?
Playmates ABA is an approved provider for ABA therapy by numerous insurance carriers. We will help you navigate the insurance coverage provided by your plan and can guide you through the process, from obtaining authorizations to troubleshooting coverage issues. Our billing department is happy to help you with coverage and benefits questions.
